We safe-guard LBQ people

LEHA self-help group was formed in 2015, to address the isolation and discrimination faced by lesbian, bisexual and queer (LBQ) women, non-binary and gender non-conforming people living in the rural Mount Kenya region.

  • empowering the community to challenge anti-LGBTQ+ abuse and harassment.
  • providing access to sexual and reproductive and mental health care

Many LBQ women and non-binary people struggle to access appropriate health care. We provide sexual and reproductive health services

Our trained peer educators work with the LBQ community to provide important health information which is relevant to individuals’ lived experiences.

Our trained responders support community members when they have experienced violence, harassment or discrimination.

Our 3 Minutes of Silence program encourages mental and physical wellness by giving community members a space to reflect and heal

We partner with the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission to provide community members with access to legal representation,

Our conversation spaces offer LBQ women and non-binary people a place to discuss their experiences of violence and discrimination and share strategies
